UPAF Ride for the Arts

BSI Team Rides for Arts Charity

June 05, 2011

Milwaukee, WI – In a continued effort to support the community, Brooks Stevens, Inc. sent a team of bicyclists to take part in the United Performing Arts Fund’s annual “Ride for the Arts.”  View a video of the ride on YouTube and pictures of the day’s activities on Flickr.

One of the nation’s largest one-day recreational bike rides, this year’s ride attracted approximately 7,000 cyclists including six from BSI.  In its 31st year, it has generated over $7 million for the UPAF and the 34 performing arts groups it supports in Southeast Wisconsin.

Our team enjoyed a 25 mile route which took them along the Lake Michigan lakefront and over the Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge with stunning views of the Milwaukee skyline.  Interestingly, it was the first time the Hoan Bridge was legally open to bicyclist in over 30 years.  We were happy to contribute to the over $300,000 the event expects to have raised.
